MaryAnn Musangi takes over late dad Kirubi’s Sh. 40 billion empire

The late billionaire Chris Kirubi’s daughter MaryAnn Musangi is now one of the most powerful women in Kenya. MaryAnn has taken over the management of the Sh. 40 billion estate that was left behind by her late father Kirubi.

MaryAnn Musangi has already been trailblazing in business. She has been working as the Managing Director of Haco Industries. She also operated two private businesses; a restaurant called Secret Garden on Riverside Drive in Nairobi and another at Two Rivers called Olpul.

Now, she will be branching out in her managerial roles to also tend to her late father’s ventures in the media, technology, advertising, stocks and agriculture.

“My father adored me…in my father’s life, I was the boss and I would have all of him to myself,” Ms Musangi said during her father’s burial on June 19, 2021.

MaryAnn will also be establishing a foundation in honour of the departed businessman to focus on education, innovation and technology, health (specialising in diabetes and cancer) and agriculture.

“I promise to do my best and when I’m stuck, I will seek those in this gathering — who included representatives of the Kenyatta family, business magnates from the world and government representatives — to hold my hand,” she said.
