Exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna has hit out at Health CS Mutahi Kagwe over his request to relevant authorities to arrest Kenyans mocking and making fun of the government’s efforts in containing the coronavirus.
Kenyans took to social media to mock the government’s decision to invite two COVID-19 ‘survivors’, Brenda and Brian to a press briefing to narrate their story on recovery from the dreaded virus.
Many faulted the move claiming that the government was playing PR gimmicks to please international donors and other doubting Kenyans.
The move forced Health CS Mutahi Kagwe to issue a stern warning stating that they would move in to arrest social media users mocking the two alleged COVID-19 SURVIVORS.
Well, the moved was not received well by a section of Kenyans, led by the exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna who took to social media to state that he would continue mocking the government’s PR drama.
“Focus on arresting the spread of coronavirus in Kenya. Buy ventilators and personal protective equipment for doctors and nurses. Set up testing sites. Leave Kenyans to exercise their freedoms. We will continue to mock you and your PR drama,” said Miguna.
The total COVID-19 cases in Kenya are now at 110, with 3 reported deaths so far.
