Sergent Kipyego Kenei’s death has left many still in shock with many questions than answers. Top of which is, who killed Kenei?
That’s the question his family is asking, hoping their loved one’s killers will be brought to book.
Kenei, who was attached to DP William Ruto’s Harambee Annex office at the time he was murdered was eulogized as a great, hardworking and disciplined man.
Kenei was disciplined, humble, committed to his work, dependable with a consistently high level of mental fitness; he will fondly be remembered for his punctuality, team spirit and resilience,’ DP Ruto eulogized him.
A snippet of Kenei’s eulogy has leaked and the heartwrenching message by Kenei to his family was revealed.
It was a poem titled Remember Me by Margaret Mead.
Below is the moving message
To the living, I am gone,
To the sorrowful, I will never return,
To the angry, I was cheated,
But to the happy, I am at peace,
And to the faithful, I have never left.
I cannot speak but I can listen.
I cannot be seen, but I can be heard
So as you stand upon a shore gazing at a beautiful sea,
As you look upon a flower and admire its simplicity,
Remember me in your heart:
Your thoughts, and your memories,
Of the times we loved
The times we cried,
The times we fought,
The times we laughed.
