Veteran politician and business magnate Lawrence Nginyo Kariuki is dead.
The politician cum business mogul died on Monday morning while undergoing treatment at the Agha Khan Hospital in Nairobi.
Nginyo left a mark as a man who withered many storms to champion for multiparty democracy in Kenya.
Lawrence Nginyo was also a founding member of The National Alliance Party (TNA), the political vehicle that steered President Uhuru Kenyatta to clinch the much-coveted seat in 2013.
Apart from politics, Nginyo had interests in the field of business. He had several businesses and premises across Nairobi, with the most notable one being Lenana Hotel and Nginyo Towers located along Koinange Street.
