Kandara MP Alice Wahome claims she has been receiving death threats from mysterious people ever since she called out President Uhuru Kenyatta for being the biggest existential threat to Kenya’s declining economy and freedom of expression.
Wahome opened up on her woes on Wednesday while addressing her supporters in Kandara town. She claimed that she received a call from a mysterious man threatening to eliminate her over her political stand.
“A man called me last week and threatened to kill me over my political stand and particularly speaking the truth on what is happening in the country,” said Wahome.
She further accused a section of Jubilee Kieleweke leaders of being behind the plot to eliminate her.
“Some leaders allied to kieleweke are after my life. Should my constituents fail to locate me, they should be interrogated about my whereabouts. They even sent goons to disrupt my event of issuing bursary cheques but our intelligence recognised them and we called police who arrested 22 of them. Let them know that I will not be cowed or intimidated by their evil schemes. Let them also know that i am guarded and we shall face each other,” added Wahome.
Alice Wahome is one of the leaders spearheading DP Ruto’s Tangatanga camp that is against the controversial BBI and suspicious handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
