Nominated MP Maina Kamanda, a strong anti-Ruto campaigner has accused the Deputy President of bribing artists from the Central region to make songs insulting President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He alleged that the grand hustler from Sugoi was paying artists up to Kshs 5 million to make songs aimed at attacking Uhuru.
He made the allegations during a press conference attended by a number of leaders such as Junet Mohamed and Murang’a Women Representative Sabina Chege.
“Our president is being insulted every day by people being sponsored by William Ruto. It is especially worse for people from Central as the Deputy President is picking up artists from the region to insult the President. If you can make a song attacking the president you get 5 million shillings,” said Kamanda.
The former Starehe MP further accused Ruto of indirectly insulting the President through online rants redirected at ODM leader Raila Odinga.
“All this we are hearing about Raila and BBI is not all about Raila. He is targeting the president,” added Kamanda.
Maina Kamanda is one of the vocal leaders from the Mount Kenya region spearheading the Kieleweke faction of the Jubilee Party. He is a strong defender of President Uhuru Kenyatta who seems to have entrusted him as his ground soldier.
