Among the ten who lost their lives during the recent ambush in Wajir were seven police officers and a doctor.
Four escaped the Friday evening with minor injuries after gunmen attacked a bus heading to Mandera between Kutulo and Wargadud area in Wajir County.
The suspected Al-Shabaab militants stopped the bus and separated the passengers into two groups before releasing the bus and executing the victims.
The official statement indicates the bus was carrying 56 passengers, among them being Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) officers who were heading back to work when the bus was ambushed.
Wajir County Commissioner Loyford Kibaara said the identities of the other two victims are yet to be established.
The four who escaped with injuries jumped out of the bus through the windows and ran for their lives, among them being three police officers and a civilian.
