A Kenyan woman in the United States is facing two felonies after allegedly attempting to bribe police officers after crashing her car while driving drunk.
According to arrest warrants at Cobb County Police, 41-year-old Rachel Michuki was arrested on Wednesday morning after crashing her car into another vehicle.
The officers said the Michuki had bloodshot and watery eyes, and that she had told the cops she had a few drinks the night before and not on Wednesday morning prior to the accident.
However, she allegedly failed an alcohol test at the scene, which allegedly prompted her to offer cash to one of the cops in exchange for her freedom.
Reports indicate there were two other passengers in the car, her daughter and her mother, and that her daughter suffered a broken left collarbone. Michuki also sustained minor leg injuries.
She was booked on charges of serious injury by vehicle, DUI, bribery, and failure to yield. She was released on $8,470 bond (Ksh850,000) the next day.
