Kenya has improved by two places in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday to sit 106th in the world. The matches played in the latest international break played a key role in helping Kenya improve in the 210-nation rankings.
Kenyan played against Egypt and Togo in the 2021 AFCON Group G qualifiers where they drew 1-1 in both matches, the first being played in Cairo, Egypt and the second in Nairobi.
The national team was previously ranked 108th globally after dropping one place following their 1-0 loss against Mozambique in a friendly match played on October 13 in Nairobi.
Overall, Kenya’s points have improved from 1195 to 1199. On the other hand, Egypt has dropped from position 49 to 51 after their 1-1 draw against Kenya and 0-0 draw against Comoros.
Togo also dropped from position 124 worldwide to 126, after losing 1-0 to Comoros in their first 2021 AFCON qualifier. Comoros currently ranks 133rd, up 9 places from 142, and is yet to face Kenya in the qualifiers.
