Yesterday was a beautiful day for Jambojet airline as it made its maiden flight to Kigali, Rwanda, making it the first low-cost carrier to fly the route.
The airline will make one daily flight from JKIA to Kigali International Airport, making it a lot cheaper compared to the more costly airlines.
“Today we mark a major milestone in our regional expansion strategy. Our aim is to grow our footprint across the continent while offering a unique product for these markets. We expect that our low-cost model will enable more people to fly affordably, conveniently, and safely,” said airline Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Allan Kilavuka.
Jambojet is a Kenyan low-cost airline that began its operations in 2014. The Kenya Airways subsidiary is headquartered in Nairobi and flies several routes including Mombasa, Malindi, Ukunda, Kisumu and Entebbe, Uganda.
This comes after the airline announced its plans to increase its flights to different East African cities a few months ago.
